Hold the Line Underground: Subway Invasion Launches April 3
March 10, 2026 — Publisher indie.io and developer QH Studios have announced that Subway Invasion will launch on Steam on April 3, releasing as part of the indie.io Franchise Sale.
Set deep beneath New York City, Subway Invasion places players in the role of a lone subway security guard tasked with protecting a train full of passengers as an alien invasion erupts underground. Armed with only a pistol and limited ammunition, players must hold the line against increasingly dangerous waves of extraterrestrial attackers while navigating the tight corridors and platforms of the subway system.
Each encounter pushes players to balance quick reflexes with tactical decision-making. Ammunition is scarce, enemies arrive in escalating waves, and the station itself becomes part of the battlefield. Players can fortify defensive positions by locking doors, control the flow of enemies through chokepoints, and scavenge supplies while under pressure.
As the invasion intensifies, players earn points by eliminating enemies and can invest them into upgrades that expand their options in combat. Weapon attachments such as scopes, flashlights, and thermal sights improve the pistol's effectiveness, while additional tools including grenades add new ways to deal with overwhelming enemy numbers.
Enemy behavior evolves as waves progress. Some aliens rush directly toward the player while others target key defenses around the train, forcing players to divide their attention and adapt their strategy in real time. With every wave, the threat grows more dangerous as enemies become faster, stronger, and more aggressive.
Across detailed subway stations and underground environments, Subway Invasion combines wave-based combat, environmental interaction, and resource management into a fast-paced survival challenge where every decision can mean the difference between holding the line and watching the system fall.
Subway Invasion launches April 3, 2026 on Steam.
