Danish indie developers Logic Artists have announced Expeditions: Viking, the second installment in their historical RPG series. The game will be set in the late 700s, and players will have to elevate their clan's status by seeking out adventire in far-off lands and defending their home from enemies.
Logic Artists have also revealed that the new game will build upon their previous title, Expeditions: Conquistador, and that they will be implementing changes requested by the player community, such as an upgradeable village, and smoother transtions between the open-world and turn-based combat, in addition to other innovations.
Jonas Wæver, Creative Director for Logic Arts, said in a press release: “We are very excited to return to our roots in the RPG genre, and as developers from the Nordic region, to make a game in a setting that is a lot closer to home than anything we've done before. We're improving on the Conquistador formula with deeper and more dynamic systems for character progression, combat abilities, role-playing, choice and consequence, and expanding on our favorite part of Conquistador: camping and wilderness survival”.
