From Ubisoft:
Today, Ubisoft released a new video for the upcoming release of Anno 2205. The featurette video is hosted by Dirk Riegert, creative director, Anno 2205. In the video, Riegert gives a deeper look at the multi-session gameplay which is a first for the Anno series. Anno 2205 will be available exclusively on Windows PC on November 3, 2015.
Multi-Session Gameplay
Multi-session gameplay in Anno 2205 consists of twelve sectors. All of these sectors can be combined into one massive, endless game. There are nine player sessions, divided over three regions: The Temperate Zone, the Arctic Zone, and the Lunar Zone on the moon. Each of these zones can be accessed by the player, and they will be free to choose among the three sessions that are in each sector. Even then, the other sessions can be accessed later in the game. In addition to these nine player sectors, there are four crisis sectors that contain optional military gameplay. After these sectors are unlocked, the player can access them whenever they want.
The multi-session gameplay of Anno 2205 has many advantages – the most important part is that everything the player builds is there to last. They are never forced to leave behind their creations, which gives players the opportunity to create unlimited metropolis across all twelve sectors.
Regions
Temperate Zone
The Temperate Zone is a familiar setting with large mountains and green grass. This is known as the player’s homeland. The largest metropolis and most expansive bridges can be built in this zone.
Arctic Zone
As it sounds, the Arctic Zone is freezing cold and gameplay and strategy are affected by the weather patterns. The factory outlets in the Arctic region provide heat which the inhabitants need, so most building placement will happen close to those facilities.
Lunar Zone
Conditions in the Lunar Zone are very different from the Arctic and Temperate since there is no atmosphere on the moon. Here, players must set up shield generators to protect their colonies from meteor showers, and build special buildings to save citizens from cosmic radiation. The moon is the most hostile environment, but still a magical, mystical place for the player to settle on.
