From Studio Wildcard:
Studio Wildcard, the studio that never sleeps, released today one of the trolliest Dinosaurs in history by adding the Oviraptor to the ARK! Sneaking into Survivor’s bases, the Oviraptor will plunder eggs without arousing the suspicion of nearby Dinos, carrying its precious cargo away to feast on, or return to its master. But that’s not all it arouses: When placed nearby, the Oviraptor will boost the mating speed of all allied Dinosaurs. In addition, ARK update v226 adds the stealth-oriented “Ghillie Suit” armor, along with new modern Structures such as the Industrial Oven and Bunk Bed. Watch the new video of the Oviraptor below.
Despite being a carnivore, Oviraptor’s primary source of food is eggs, which it steals from nests. Unlike any other creature, Oviraptor seems to be able to surreptitiously steal these eggs usually without attracting the attention of an irate mother. In an incredible feat of natural selection, Oviraptor seems to emit a chemical pheromone that affects many creatures as an aphrodisiac. Mated creatures are much more likely to… “create” new fertilized eggs while Oviraptor is around, which enables the Oviraptor to go about its business unperturbed. They also make quite adorable sounds, so many children simply like to keep them as rather strange companions.
ARK update v226 also adds the Ghillie Suit armor, set for camouflaged stealth against Dinos and Survivors; the Industrial Oven, which enables cooking food on a large scale for an entire Tribe’s army; a Table furniture item, upon which small structures can be placed; a Modern Bunk-Bed for faster respawning, plus various optimizations and balancing improvements.
ARK: Survival Evolved will launch in June 2016 on Xbox One via the ID@Xbox program, PlayStation 4 with Project Morpheus support, and full release on Steam PC. The game is currently in Steam’s Early Access program and includes Oculus Rift VR support and an integration of Steam community features such as Steam Economy and Steam Workshop for custom maps and mods. Players can host private/LAN servers and have access to a custom-built version of the Unreal Engine 4 Editor for creating mods. The world of ARK is designed to be modder-friendly and ever-expanding!
