Even the Hawaiian government wants a piece of EA and I don't blame them, because everyone else does too. However, this looks a lot like bureaucracy getting in the middle of something that they don't really understand.

Hawaiian state rep, Chris Lee, has vowed to "take action" against EA on Tuesday, saying, "This game [Battlefront 2] is basically a Star Wars-themed online casino designed to lure kids into an addictive cycle of gambling money for a chance to win game upgrades. These exploitive mechanisms have no place in games being marketed to minors, and perhaps no place in games at all."

Now, I don't think this really works, because in order to gamble, you have to put something up; something has to be wagered or risked. This doesn't really fit the bill.

I still believe that EA is a greedy company, but this type of behavior is unfortunately, in my opinion, here to stay, for the simple reason that game companies are making more money than ever off of this exact type of thing; day one DLC, loot crates, "crystals", whatever.

People, if you don't want to support this behavior, STOP SUPPORTING THESE COMPANIES.

PERIOD.

The only way a huge company like EA is going to hear you, is if you speak with your wallets.

Luke, not loot-crates.
