Playdius and Indie dev Studio Chahut of Splasher fame announced that their new title, Post Human W.A.R., is being released December 14th, after six months of early release.
This game has been on my radar for a while and the devs have been busy on the boards during early access, which is always good to see. It was already shaping up to be something pretty great, and I am excited to see how the game looks after being in early access for six months. The game appears to be an attractive but run-of-the-mill turn based strategy game, but there are some interesting tweaks and a psychological element that sounds really cool, centering around hidden "champions" who must be discovered, unmasked and eliminated.
The launch trailer explains the game in a fun and simplistic way and if that doesn't make things clear, read the description below. Come on guys. I can't hold your hand on everything.
Official Description:
Post Human W.A.R is a turn-based tactical and psychological strategy game. Form your armies and set off on an adventure through solo campaigns, or face other players online! Since the the start of its early access, a lot of content was added to Post Human W.A.R: new languages, visuals, effects, balancing... And also a new core feature: the CHAMPION. Victory is now achieved by finding and defeating the hidden opponent's champion, allowing even more subterfuges and deceitful strategies!
Game features include:
No room for randomness: All your victories on the battlefield will be rightfully earned.
A psychological game of bluff: A champion is hidden inside your enemy lines. Unmasking and killing him will grant you victory!
An absurd and original post-apocalyptic background: Will you lead the brute force of wild animals, household robots converted to warfare or an army of intellectual apes in tracksuit?
Faction-specific campaigns: Depending on your choices you will either fight for R-Patch, Wraak, or Anthropists beliefs. Find out how the battles for domination went down.
