It's (Monster) hunting season!
Monster Hunter: World is opening up their global beta from December 9th to the 12th. All PS4 owners with a PS+ subscription can get in on the beta, and European hunters can pre-download it starting at midnight, Dec 8th, with official play running Dec. 9th at 6pm to 6pm Tuesday, the 12th. Now, these hours are German time, so if you are in say, California, Germany is going to be 9 hours ahead of you (noon in California is 9pm Germany).
Three quests are going to be available, both in solo and multiplayer modes, in addition to a training area where you can test the 14 weapon types and figure out what the hell you are doing.
You've got 12 avatars to choose from (pre-set, so you pick and play without a ton of initial customization), and there are six Palico companions for those who want to get down in the solo mode, but there will be more than six in the full game.
Grab your buddies via the player search option, or meet a new friend from a town or ocean away as you throw down in online hunts and quests using voice chat, stickers or gestures. The beta supports German, English and Japanese localization, so everyone can read and understand the game, which seems important. Players who participate in the beta will get the hook-up with face paint and a bonus item that will be available in the full version when it drops January 26th, 2018.
