"They know we want Cloud, why won't they just give us Cloud?"
-Every person playing any FF game, ever.
This past weekend, Final Fantasy fans gathered at The Wiltern Theater for the grand finale of the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Fan Fiesta world tour (boy, that's a mouthful). There, producers Kei Hirono and Hiroki Fujimoto started rattling off announcements like a Fourth of July fireworks finale, including the introduction of Cloud (finally), a bunch of upcoming content, a new boss and even a Cloud intro trailer (watch it below).
A spinoff of the Final Fantasy series, Fantasy Brave Exvius is a free-to-play mobile role-playing game developed by Alim and published by Square Enix for iOS and Android devices. The game is the first collaborative effort between Square Enix and Alim and draws elements from Alim's previous game, Brave Frontier.
Brave Exvius is designed as a turn-based role-playing game, using elements from the Final Fantasy series with those of Brave Frontier. As part of the game's gacha system, players can summon characters from other Final Fantasy titles (like Cloud), which players can use to build a party of five members. Characters are presented in a pixelated art style, and the games features old school exploration in a classic RPG style
Here's all the Exvius content announced at the world tour :
- New Unit – Cloud: Beginning December 15th, players can obtain Cloud via Featured and Rare Summons. A Final Fantasy themed in-game event, “Destroy the Reactor,” will coincide with the introduction of Cloud, from which players can obtain new items and equipment.
- New Trial Boss – Glacial: The winter season brings forth the new powerful and icy enemy, Glacial, who awaits those seeking a challenge in the Chamber of the Fallen. Those that defeat Glacial will be rewarded with exclusive rewards, including the Frozen Crown—a piece of headgear optimal for healers.
- New Holiday Characters: Three new holiday-themed characters—Kryla, Christine, and Carrie—will make an appearance this holiday season, and will be joined by last year’s holiday units, White Knight Noel and Santa Rosalia, in the latter half of the promotion. Holiday characters will only be available for a limited time and may only be obtained through the holiday Featured Summon.
