Injustice 2 was a pretty big hit this year and people seem surprised, which I get. Even though it is basically Mortal Kombat with superheroes, I don't hear people talk about it in the same way that they talk about, say, Tekken or Street Fighter. Nonetheless, there is some great, technical fighting to be found here, in addition to a fun campaign with a fantastic story, and some pretty cool and unique fighting quirks, like "betting" your power in clinch moments, and smashing a fool through the floor into the depths of the Bat-cave.
"If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, now you can... for free!" Warner Bros is running a free trial period of the game from December 14th to 18th. In the free demo, you can try a little of everything and really get a feel for the game. The first three story chapters are available, you can use every base level hero with the exception of Braniac, and you can crush your foes in every multiplayer and online mode. If they reel you in with the trial and you like what you see, the game will be half off during the trial period, and of course all your progress will be saved and carry over.
The free Injustice 2 trail is available for PS4 and Xbox One from Dec. 14th-18th.
