I don't want to be that guy. You think I want to be this guy? Talking trash about a show based on one SINGLE trailer? Who does that?
Well, I'll tell you what friends and neighbors; I DO. Cuz this doesn't look great and someone has to say it. The outfit? Lord have mercy. The TERRIBLE missed connection on the punch at .48 seconds with the awful "I just got punched" SFX to accompany it? Power Rangers status. The floaty way Black Lighting slowwwwwwly jumps off the building? Amateur hour wire-work. The actor delivering his lines like he has never used the English language (or any language for that matter) before? Yikes.
I'm hoping I am wrong and I definitely could be. I thought the Flash totally sucked for a while before I began to grow on me. It has some charms that took some patience and time to see (not to mention some managing of expectations), and I still watch it today. However, from what I am seeing, it's not looking amazing for ol' Black Lightning. Take a look at the trailer and let me know what you think, I'm hoping that the quality steps up and the story (based on the new, ongoing Black Lightning comic series) shows us something new, especially since this isn't Flash, Green Arrow, or hell, even Super Girl. BL is a C list hero at best, and they are going to have to take some risks to make people care.
