Well, you may have finally gotten me, Build-A-Bear.
I've fought your cuteness. I've scoffed at your novelty. Chortled at your price points. But now? This? Mario? How could you?
Build-A-Bear is now offering a 16 inch Mario bear, which retails at the almost reasonable price of $28 bucks. You get the works: the bear, the overalls, the hat, and the friggin mustache. You can even purchase a $7 sound chip that plays the Super Mario Bros theme song.
That not enough? Well, Build-A-Bear has got more for you. They've got the Bowser bear, which is at the near untenable price of $35 American dollars. Bowser stands 15 inches tall, and you can also pick up the $7 sound chip that plays various Bowser-related sounds. There is also a Yoshi bear available for $25.50.
What about accessories? Thought you'd never ask. Build-A-Bear has got you covered, if you've got the cash. First up, there's a Toad plushie (although I wouldn't really call him an "accessory", more like a trusted friend). There's also a Super Mario Wrist Accessory Set that has a Yoshi egg, an invincibility star, and a mushroom. There's also a Super Mario hoodie (red), a Luigi costume and a Princess Peach dress.
