Information on the upcoming Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries is finally starting to trickle in, and I gotta say, what I am hearing is good news.
Set to launch in December of 2018, Piranha games is reportedly making co-op play a main feature of the title, with up to four players kicking ass together in the game's campaign. If you have no friends, I am sorry for you, but the game will pick up the slack with 3 A.I. mechs, much like Furby's helped your kid pretend that they had friends, and not a tape recorder with a layer of thin fluff stretched over it. Hopefully the A.I. on the mechs will be up to snuff, because there are few things in games that are worse than idiotic "friendly" A.I. who just stand there getting filled full of holes after I burned a health or repair kit to keep them alive. Take cover behind the cover! BEHIND it!
There will also be a large amount of mod support happening through the Steam Workshop, which will allow you to make your own missions, among other things. More information is on its way, but take heart in the fact that this is the first MechWarrior in over four years. They've had a good while to tinker and tweak, and hopefully this iteration will be something special.
thank you
