Ghostlight announced that Idol JRPG, Omega Quintet, is out now on Steam for $30, but the 40% launch discount reduces the price to $17.99.
In a game-staple stunner, humanity is in peril! A deadly phenomenon known as 'Blare' is threatening to consume all life on earth and is quickly eating away at the minds of humans worldwide. With conventional resistance failing hardcore, one small city has an unconventional way to make a stand.
Humanity's last hope lies in the Verse Maidens, five exceptional girls with powerful musical abilities. These idols of music must use the deadly powers of song and dance to wipe out the Blare forever. A hybrid JRPG and Idol simulation, you must use your sound weapons by building an arsenal of deadly attacks and skills to hype up your fans, which unlocks powerful combination attacks. Every level is a stage, so you have to pump up the crowd and build your voltage gauge as fast as you can to unleash powerful special skills. You also are going to want to look good doing it, so you have to customize your performer's looks, from hair to mics and accessories. Your enemies want to crash your party, and will do so with "outfit-busting costume breaks”, leaving you vulnerable to attack and looking quite foolish in front of your adoring audience.
Sing your foes to death by using the “Harmonics” system, where you weave your idols’ skills into deadly chain combos, using them in the correct order to multiply the damage your amazing vocal chords inflict on the haters.
The original game got some pretty great reviews, and if you pick this title up on Steam, you'll get the following DLC on the house:
- Verse Maiden Beginner Pack 1, 2, 3
- First, Second, Third and Fourth Verse Maiden War
- Complete MAD Encyclopedia
