Hot on the heels of the Tomb Raider trailer, Total Film stuck Laura Croft (Alicia Vikander) on the cover of their magazine, and they've got some exclusive new pictures of the film and a little bit of behind the scenes stuff on set as well.
The rebooted movie is set to release on March 16, 2018 and centers around Laura Croft trying to find her missing father. Just from watching the trailer, it looks like this is going to be more gritty and will borrow from the "Tomb Raider" and "Rise of the Tomb Raider" games, where Laura Croft is new to the whole tomb-raiding thing and is just starting to become the ass-kicking, treasure hunting badass we all know and love.
This is the second (technically third) time that Tomb Raider will be adapted for the big screen. The first was in 2001, the somewhat mediocre Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, with Laura being played by Angelina Jolie. Jolie went on to make a sequel in 2003 called The Cradle of Life, which was arguably worse than the first film. People liked busty Angelina Jolie playing the titular role, but everything else was kind of a mess. Here's hoping the new reboot gets it right.
