Nintendo just beat their own record for fastest selling home console in the US by selling a lot of Switches... almost 5 million of em. That's right, in the 10 months since the Switch came out in March of 2017, they have sold 4.8 million Switch consoles, beating the record they set with the Wii (4 million sold in the same amount of time), and proving that their system isn't just a Mario machine.
The Switch crushed it this holiday season, and the 3rd party support from big names, like EA and Ubisoft have helped the Switch to be considered by "hardcore" gamers, unlike the WiiU, which was seen more as a novelty than a viable single console gaming system. Speaking on the high holiday sales, in a very boring comment, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime had this to say;
"Now that many more people have received Nintendo Switch systems for the holidays, we look forward to bringing them fun new surprises in 2018 and beyond."
You said it, President Reggie Fils-Aime.
The Switch is obviously available now.
