Ever feel like getting revenge on those dodgeball bullies from school? Maybe you feel like tossing a flaming spear instead of a ball? No problem, Striker's Edge has you covered.
Developer Fun Punch Games and global indie publisher Playdius just announced the official release date of Strikers Edge, set to launch worldwide for PC on Steam and on PS4 consoles via the PlayStation Network on Jan. 30, 2018, with European dodgeballers getting the game the following day.
Designed to deliver the ultimate “Dodgebrawl” battle experience, Strikers Edge features a roster of eight ancient warriors from different eras and civilizations, all ready to play some deadly rounds of dodgeball. Dodge, take cover, aim and scorch the earth with devastating tosses that will make you forget all about getting pantsed in gym class! It's medieval fantasy meets dodgeball, and you can play online or battle it out locally.
In addition to online battles, Strikers Edge also offers a special "Twitch Mode", exclusively for Steam users. You just activate the streamer mode in the options, start the stream, and invite your audience to mess with your match by choosing from a variety of modifiers and perks that spice up the game-play. Weird!
To celebrate the upcoming launch, two Twitch live streams will take place during Strikers Edge’s last Steam Open Beta session. Players will be invited to brawl the Fun Punch Games team, and the Beta testers’ win ratio will determine the release promotion on Steam! I would assume you will lose, since they made the game, but you might as well give it a shot. Just pretend they are those jock assholes who smashed your glasses in 8th grade. That'll show em.
