2013 D.I.C.E. Award mobile game of the year winner, Hero Academy, just released a sequel and it's available for download now on the App store and Google play!
Hero Academy is a two-player, turn-based tactics game created by the developer Robot Entertainment, known mainly for Orcs Must Die!. The game was originally released for the iPhone iOS platform and was later ported to PC and Android. The gameplay consists of players taking turns moving their units on a board, attacking enemy units, and basically racing to see who can destroy the other player's crystal or eliminate all their units first.
Hero Academy 2 embraces the original's signature tactical gameplay, while adding a boat-load of additional features, many of which come straight from the fans. Patrick Hudson, CEO of Robot Entertainment said that the team worked hard to implement fan ideas and tweaks:
"This is a game we've wanted to make for a long time. We worked very hard to capture the core fun and uniqueness of the original game while delivering on key fan-requested features," said Patrick Hudson, CEO of Robot Entertainment. "With the help of our good friends at BonusXP, we're really proud of Hero Academy 2. We have big plans to deliver exciting content and feature additions post-release."
It's always nice to see developers give a damn about what the fans want, instead of solely worrying about their bank accounts. Hero Academy 2 features real-time PvP duels, card collection and deck creation, a single player campaign and cross-platform play across iOS, Android, PC, and Mac. You can get early access to the PC and Mac versions on their website at www.heroacademy2.com.
