Aftercharge is a 3v3, asymmetrical shooter-brawler that pits a team of invisible robots against a team of invincible security guards in high-octane tactical matches. That's a hell of a sentence. Coming to PC and Xbox One this summer, the game appears pretty simple, but it offers challenging, team-based gameplay where every player is vital to obtaining victory. Basically, instead of using a class system like 99% of other games in the genre, Aftercharge has players choose from a character pool on each side with widely different abilities and roles to mix up their team's strategy as players work together to destroy or defend control points on the map in a limited amount of time. The latest version of Aftercharge features two new characters, bringing the current roster up to 8, with each character packing their own unique attacks, defensive abilities and weapons, so you can mix it up with a variety of offensive and defensive tactical options.
The two new characters are Turbo and Huntress. Turbo is built to quickly carry lightweight construction material, and shares his teammates' abilities to remain cloaked and offer support with energy transfers, but he can also gain incredible speed for short bursts. Huntress packs a powerful, long-range rifle that can turn droids to scrap, draining their cloaking abilities with every shot she lands. Her companion drone saps energy from nearby enemies, and those who step on her magnetic traps ain't gonna be happy.
