Sure, Warcraft wasn't great. In fact, it was pretty terrible, but it's hard to blame all that on Duncan Jones. The story was stupid and meandering, there was a boring and listless main conflict, and the cgi was so-so. I, for one, am willing to give ol Duncan another shot, and if you feel like I do, you can check out the new Netflix original film, Mute, on February 23rd.
If this film is anything like his previous science fiction film, Moon, then it's going to be weird and awesome. Set in the future, Mute follows Leo (Alexander Skarsgård) in 2052 in Berlin as he searches for his girlfriend. Leo is a mute bartender who stops some asshole customers from harassing his lady, who repays him by saying some cryptic BS then running into the night. It's up to Leo to find her, possible with the help of a surgeon named Cactus Jack (Paul Rudd) and a man named Duck Teddington (Justin Theroux).
Take a look at the trailer below, this thing looks like it has some potential, and you can't deny how awesome Paul Rudd's mustache is.
Mute airs on Netflix February 23rd.
