Upcoming zombie MMO from Atelier 801, Dead Maze, is set to launch on Steam on February 13.
Since the closed beta for Dead Maze kicked off, Atelier has been busy adding bug fixes and new features, including a new game mode called The Raid where players have to survive infinite waves of enemies, as well as localizing the game in 8 total languages.
Set in the Western United States (aren't they all?), humanity has been devastated by a plague of the undead, and if the people (you) don't work well with others (anyone you are playing with) you ain't gonna make it. You'll have to explore, scavenge, and work together to survive and rebuild a colorful 2D society. There is no PVP in Dead Maze, but a massive focus on cooperation, as you explore high risk, high reward scenarios in a world that has gone straight to fuck. Scavenge for resources, craft life-saving supplies and fight off the ever-present hordes of bitey infected.
In addition to your obvious zombie problems, you must deal with human issues as well, like hunger, thirst, injuries and diseases. Ration your food and drinks, and monitor your health carefully through the in-depth survival mechanics. You also have to deal with creature comforts like establishing a camp and building/furnishing your home, planting seeds, tending a garden and breeding cattle, so you can get your meat-eat on too.
