Although the retail version of Worms W.M.D. is as dead as your wormy opponents, we still get an update for the digital version.
Worms W.M.D. is the latest title in the long-running series, where 2D worms wield insane weapons and blast each other to death, with W.M.D. introducing crafting, vehicles and buildings.
In a tweet released today, the Worms' team had this to say:
"We will no longer be pursuing a physical version of Worms W.M.D on Nintendo Switch. Digital is the way to go to get your Worms W.M.D fix on Switch."
However, the team released an update to take away some of the sting, featuring fan-requested features like a new invite system that enables players to send invites to friends for online matches, video capture ability, an increased overall maximum worm count up to 48 worms, and some additional performance optimizations.
Worms W.M.D is available for download now for Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo eShop) for $29.99, or you can pick it up for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux via Steam or GOG.
