Oh, Sam Fisher. You are a delight. Tom Clancy's answer to Metal Gear, this series enjoyed a pretty stellar run in the last couple decades, bringing mad stealth to the Xbox, spread over six titles. Now, one of my favorites in the series, Splinter Cell: Conviction is joining the Xbox One's backwards compatibility program, and they are laying a tasty discount on it to entice players.
Splinter Cell: Conviction introduced a number of new gameplay features to the series, mainly the "mark & execute" feature, which allows players to mark specific enemies or objects and shoot them in rapid succession without manually targeting each one. The player can choose to prioritize these targets, setting up a lot of creative ways to clear a room, like marking a lightbulb first to throw the room into darkness, then shooting through a few befuddled guards. There was also a new interrogation ability, where players can use the environment to "coerce" information out of guards and enemies.
If you've never played it, you should- the game holds up remarkably well. They are running a 50% off sale until February 12th, and players who already own the Xbox 360 version of the game can use their Splinter Cell: Conviction discs on Xbox One, and if you own a digital copy, it'll now be located in the Ready to Download area of the My Games and Apps section..
