In a report originally broke by Kotaku UK, according to multiple sources, Activision is working on a Spyro the Dragon Trilogy Remaster, set to be released in the second half of 2018.
The remaster is rumored to feature new cinematics, assets and animations, a new save system, plus a remaster of the classic soundtrack. The trilogy remaster will consist of Spyro the Dragon, Ripto's Rage!, and Year of the Dragon. The remaster is set to be released for Playstation 4.
With Spyro the Dragon's 20th anniversary rapidly approaching, the timing of this announcement makes a lot of sense. The remaster will be handled by Vicarious Visions, the same studio that was responsible for the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy. Keep an eye out for the rumored announcement, which should be happening in March.
