Guns, Gore & Cannoli was an oddly named blast, bringing a unique art-style to an old-school, Metal Slug type side-scrolling shooter. The humor was good, the gameplay was fun, and although not the most original thing in the world, we had a lot of fun with it (see our review here). Now, we stand on the cusp of the sequel...
It's been 15 years since Vinnie Cannoli stared a zombie plague in its rotted face and straight up took care of business. Now, WWII is in full swing, there is a new, Nazi-mob boss type character rising to power, and although the Thugtown Massacre is over a decade in the past, some loose ends begin lurching their way to the present, causing Vinnie to reload and get back to work.
Players will get to traverse the European battlefields of the second World War, whacking mobsters, zombies, monsters, Nazis and everything in between. There will be a wide-variety of death-dealing weapons, the art-style remains the same, and there is a new weapon wheel and full 360° aiming combined with improved mobility. In short, it'll be easier to kill everything in your path. There's also 4-player online multiplayer, in addition to couch co-op.
These screens show off a bit of the art-style, and the trailer gives you a look at WWII era Europe.
Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2 releases March 2nd.
