Tech Support: Error Unknown has you assuming the role of a leading tech support specialist. I know, I know; that does not sound exciting. Hang with me on this one.
You assume the role of a leading tech support specialist who has been tasked with resolving various customer issues. You must hack your system to unlock its potential, GPS track lost phones, scan profiles to blackmail customers, or even throw up your hands and tell them to do a full system reboot, just like a real-life tech support guy. At the end of the day, will you toe the company line, or go rogue and turn into a badass hacker? I think we all know the answer to that one.
Kevin Giguère, lead developer and founder of Dragon Slumber had this to say about the title:
"I wanted to create something relatable to current events and everyday life. Coming from a technical background as a web developer, a Tech Support simulator seemed like a natural fit for my next game, being drawn by the desire to present the realities of such a job while empowering players, including adding elements of hacking as part of the gameplay experience. Cyber attacks are becoming more commonplace in today's world; whether you're a teenager with a laptop or a big bank with maximum security servers, no one is truly immune to getting hacked."
The game is currently in closed pre-alpha, but it should launch on PC via Steam in the fourth quarter of 2018.
