I'll admit, I've never understood the "work sim" genre. When I get done with work, I don't want to use my leisure time digitally doing another job, I want to be a ninja, chopping a thousand enemies to death. But that's just me, and the wild success of truck driver, pilot and even farming sims prove that I am in the minority.
This newest sim has me intrigued though; what little kid didn't at one point want to be a firefighter or a cop? The aptly named emergency sim, Flashing Lights focuses on police, firefighters and emergency medical services in an open world setting. Players will sign up with one of the three emergency departments, then spend their time engaged in high speed car chases, diagnosing life-threatening injuries, and racing around putting out fires and rescuing hapless civilians. Each department has its own vehicles, equipment and abilities, and you can team up with altruistic pals online, and man the three different branches of emergency and rescue services.
If this sounds like your thing, you will have the chance to play Flashing Lights early, via an upcoming Closed Alpha, which you can sign up for here.
Flashing Lights arrives in Early Access on May 18th, 2018.
