Although zombies have been played out for about a decade, the industry refuses to accept it. The Walking Dead is still running strong on TV (despite being terrible), and it seems like every week we're getting a new FPS zombie mode, a new zombie film, or just a new zombie IP. In short, whether we like it or not, zombies aren't going anywhere.
Now, we have I, Zombie, a cutesy looking zombie title for the Switch, but at least this time there is a tweak; you are a zombie. You are tasked with doing what zombies do, which is, of course, eating people and turning them into zombies. In I, Zombie, you assume the role of a newly turned member of the undead, and you are faced with a powerful hunger. However, unlike most zombies, you have intelligence, and comical voice-overs. You will become a zombie general, leading your growing horde to the tasty brains of your former species. Whenever you chow down, you'll turn your walking snack into a brainless, green-skinned creature, gaining full control over their mushy brains. Command your horde to attack armed soldiers, infect helpless civilians, follow you, or just mill around, awaiting orders. Each scenario requires a different tactical approach and careful planning, so you have to tread lightly if you don't want to get your head turned into hot soup.
You'll have to be a sneaky corpse, finding ways around superior firepower and classic-style puzzles. Once you have finished eating your fill, check out I, Zombie's built-in level editor and make your own levels and maps to keep the buffet going.
I, Zombie hits the Switch on March 8th, 2018, and it is also available on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Get all the details on the official site, here.
