Some of you may be too young to remember this series on the 64, but at the time, it didn't get much better than Turok, especially when you were a 14 year old kid with strict parents, playing it at your buddies house. The game was crazy violent (to us), had you playing as a Native American, and let you shoot machine-gun toting dinosaurs in the face. The dinos ranged from airborne dragonfly types to a full on, metal helmet-wearing, fire -breathing T-Rex. The weapons came in a bunch of grisly flavors as well, beginning with a bow and arrow, and ending with a "Cerebral Bore" a cringe-worthy piece of tech that sent a small metal sphere flying into an enemy's head, where it would emit a dentist-drill like scream as it sawed into their cranium. In short, Turok was awesome.
Now, those who missed out can get a second chance at drilling a hole in someone's head and tossing an explosive inside. Turok 1 & 2 are both coming to the Xbox One. Nightdive studio has been hard at work on this since 2015, and it looks like we'll see the fruits of their labor March 2nd. Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil will cost $19.99 each, which seems steep for an N64 game, but maybe I am underestimating the nostalgia factor here.
What do you all think? You remember Turok fondly? You remember Turok at all? The games will get a launch discount, but once that ends, they will both stick at $19.99. Does that seem like too much?
Let me know in the comments.
