Iratus: Lord of the Dead is a tactical dark fantasy roguelike developed by Unfrozen. Inspired heavily by the setting and gameplay of Darkest Dungeon, Dungeon Keeper and Disciples, Unfrozen is getting away from the save the world tropes, instead focusing their storyline on a necromancer imprisoned in a dungeon centuries ago, desperate to break free. Player will need to improve their underground lair, create undead minions from the body parts of the dead, make tough combat decisions, and take part in intricate tactical fights where a single mistake can wipe you out.
The game clearly borrows its style and tone from Darkest Dungeon, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, since DD was a tough as nails, difficult but rewarding title. Take a look at the new screenshots and the trailer below, Iratus: Lord of the Dead will be out on steam this year.
