I literally yelled "YES!" while watching this trailer. I want this to be good quite badly. But I've been hurt so many times before...
This could be good, but it could easily be a pile of crap, mainly because it looks almost too throwback, possibly ignoring the advancements to the genre (Double Dragon Neon, Shank, Godhand). Still, the pure, balls out nineties-ness of this thing is pretty great; it looks like Streets of Rage meets Pit Fighter, and that's a good thing. You can even sock a bear, and the official title screen shows a grizzly bear cruising around on a riding lawnmower with a sawed off shotgun in it's meaty paw. Now, I don't like having my emotions manipulated, but I have to admit, that could only be cooler if he wore wraparound sunglasses.
We'll have to wait it out to see what we're dealing with, though. The gameplay doesn't look like it has changed, well, anything since the heyday of button smacking beat em ups, and that could be a very serious problem. Too many times I've seen shows and games try to cash in on nostalgia, but they forget to do anything besides point to something and say "Remember this? That was great, right?" I mean, right, but what does that have to do with anything? What do you have to say about it, besides, "Hey, we used to like this!"
Still, watch the trailer below, Raging Justice is coming our way on Switch, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year. Man... that baseball bat sound effect is absolutely brutal.
