The Tekken World Tour returns in 2018, which, really, is no surprise. The big names are back, including 2017 champion, South Korea's Son "Qudans" Byung-Moon, but there are some changes this year. The setup is 40 worldwide tournaments, held both offline and online, all leading to the 2018 Tekken World Chapmionship global finals, which will be held in Amsterdam. If you are unable to kick your way into the finals, Bandai Namco is having a wild card of sorts, with one final chance to get in, in the form of a Last Chance Qualifier tournament during the event's first day.
The big changes to this year's tournament are most notably in the leaderboards. Previous years had three regional boards, compared to only one this year. The point structure will also have some shakeups, dividing events into Challenger events and Master events, awarding points with Top 16 finishes for Challenger and Top 32 for Master.
The World Tour 2018 kicks off on the 16th of March, with the Final Round in Atlanta, GA and additional North American based stops in California, Texas, Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Toronto, Canada.
