My Lovely Daughter, the Frankenstein looking creep-fest from Toge productions, wants to know how far you'd be willing to go for a loved one. The game tells the story of a grieving father and his intense love for his late daughter, who he finds dead of a mysterious ailment one morning. As an alchemist, players will assume the role of Faust, and must raise varieties of homunculus (basically small sentient humanoid creations) to help revive his daughter. The game puts a pretty twisted emphasis on building relationships with your homunculus, just to sacrifice them so your lovely daughter can (potentially) be brought back to life. Also, they are all young and female, much like your daughter, and you have to brutally dispatch them after gaining their trust. Colllllld bloooooodeeeeed!
My Lovely Daughter borrows elements from various works of fiction that involve alchemy as part of the narrative, focusing on the idea that “life is not beautiful,” and the few things that can make it bearable, like family and success are only available to those who can sacrifice all to attain them... and even then they can be easily taken away.
