Time to get your raid on! We are getting a new Tomb Raider this year, and it will be the last in the origin trilogy for young Laura Croft. We aren't getting a lot of information on this one (yet), but we can see that Laura is in a jungle with some Mayan or Aztec looking ruins in the background, but Square Enix says that we'll get a full on reveal n April 27th.
This time around, Crystal Dynamics is not working on the series (they developed the first two titles in the rebooted series); instead, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be developed by Eidos Montreal, most recently known for their work on the Deus Ex series. Crystal Dynamics is working with Marvel on an Avengers title instead.
Another change is that Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC simultaneously, whereas Rise of the Tomb Raider was a "timed Xbox exclusive", meaning that PS4 and PC owners had to wait a few months to play.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider will release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 14th.
