You gotta love how game Hugh Jackman is for these ridiculous gags, especially since it was his starring vehicle, Wolverine: Origins that's getting shit on. Then again, it's not like Jackman didn't bounce back, finishing the trilogy out with one of the best "superhero" movies ever made (last year's Logan).
They've already shown a Deadpool 2 trailer with an homage to the film that first starred Reynolds as Deadpool (even though it was a terrible, almost unrecognizable version of the character); you can see it in the train-car scene, when Cable unloads his pistol at Deadpool and Pool deftly slices the first bullet in half in slow motion, just as he did in Wolverine: Origins. All of Cable's other rounds appear to go right through the Merc with a mouth. Now, we have Deadpool trolling Jackman while the Wolverine star is attempting to record a birthday message for his son. I love how throwaway the whole thing looks, like Deadpool was legitimately just chilling out and decided to interrupt an off the cuff video from Jackman.
Deadpool 2 is out May 18th, and if think you can't be more excited for this film, it was just revealed that freaky Pennywise actor Peter Skarsgård is going to play Zeitgeist in the film, a character who first appeared in X-Force #116. Zeitgeist's alter ego is Axel Cluney, and his mutant ability is to disgustingly spit acidic vomit from his mouth. Awesome. Skarsgård's Zeitgeist joins the X-Force crew, so far consisting of Domino (Zazie Beats), Bedlam (Terry Crews), and Shatterstar (Lewis Tan).
