While some say that space is the "final frontier", for the denizens of Genesis Alpha One, space has become the final option. We have finally wrecked our own planet to the point that it is legitimately about to die (yay, humans!), and now humanity needs to find a new one, and fast, if they hope to keep the species going. Unfortunately, the harsh reaches of space will require a new breed of human, and since there aren't any just wandering around, you'll need to create one. Welcome to the world of Genesis Alpha One, the new rouge-like title from the folks over at Team 17!
Genesis Alpha One puts you in control of a Genesis starship, and your mission is to find the aforementioned world capable of sustaining life in order to continue to propagation of our species. Not only are you in control of the units exploring new worlds, shooting aliens directly in the face and keeping the ship safe, you're in charge of building the ship itself! You'll have to intelligently design your starship so you can best harvest the resources needed to continue your exploration of deep space, while kicking wholesale alien ass.
This game is already looking fantastic, especially since you'll be exploring environments in a first person setting. You'll be dealing not only with the harsh environments of the icy depths of space, but also any alien life forms that you encounter along the way. Genesis Alpha One is implementing rouge-like elements to mix things up, and as a huge rogue-like fan, I am pumped.
