This is like a big game of clue, but instead of "Mr. Mustard in the library with a lead pipe", it's "Mr. Mustard has been possessed by a demon and he just ate your face."
Sounds awesome, right?
We'll see if the premise pays off when this new FPS multiplayer horror title from Fearem called Daemonical goes into private alpha on Wednesday May 9th, 2018. Set on a small island, the game aims to give players the classic horror movie setup; stranded on a remote island, a group of friends must survive until daybreak, while a malevolent demon chooses and possesses one of the teens, using them to murder the rest. You won't know who to trust, as anyone on the island could be inhabiting the demon. Scavenge for weapons, partner up (or run from everyone), complete satanic rituals, make a strategy or wing it; all you have to do is survive until the sun comes up.
The Private Alpha will go in waves, adding people after every major fix, with 2,000 people in the first wave, and 9,000 on the next. Fearem has made a good amount of fixes based on player feedback already, implementing some redesigned character models, character shading and changes to the character customization screen. Characters will now sweat, get dirty and hurt themselves as they roam the forest, and they'll noticeably get cleaner when it rains or when they are submerged in water, in what Fearem is calling a dynamic dirt/blood/sweat system.
Fearem says that they "intend to keenly listen to criticism and continue working with players in order to shape the game into something that they will love and enjoy during both the alpha and the early access."
Daemonical is aiming for a final release in late Q2 2018.
