Green Hell looks like it is going to be a gross, stressful foray into desperation and despite that description, it looks like it might just be a ton of fun. Polish based Creepy Jar are going for realism in their new survival title, with realistic world building and gameplay, down to getting sick from eating the wrong plant to infected cuts and gut parasites. Gross, right?
Here's the launch trailer, so you can see what kind of realism the team is aiming for.
To me, this looks a bit like early FarCry, albeit without all the guns and spare ammo lying around. Players find themselves waking up in the jungle, with not much more than their clothes, in what sounds like a pretty tight spot:
"Clinging to life, the player is set on a journey of durability as the effects of solitude wear heavy not only on the body but also the mind. How long will can you survive against the dangers of the unknown? Having only a radio at your disposal you will follow a familiar voice through a seemingly endless and ruthlessly inhospitable jungle. Bit by bit, you will unveil more of the mystery of how you came to be in this hostile situation and what you discover just might be worse than what you fought so hard against to survive."
You'll have to build weapons, find shelter, make antidotes and find food and water, using a rough guide book and crude weapons to keep you alive. Take a look at the first 20 minutes below, Green Hell is slated to hit Early Access this summer, with console versions coming after the PC version.
