Marvel Strike Force, the free to play phone/tablet title just got a new addition today, in the form of Cable, the time traveling badass who just co-starred in Deadpool 2 (Josh Brolin). The game sets you up to battle alongside heroes and villains when earth is assaulted by extraterrestrial forces, and villains and heroes have to put aside their differences and smash the alien menace. You can pair up specific heroes and villains to perform flashy combos, and since these battles play out in 5v5 matches, you may need some time to put together your own squad, since there are plenty of characters to choose from, including Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Daredevil, Thro, Loki, Elektra, Captain America, Iron Man and about a million others.
Cable's real name is Nathan Summers, the biological son of the X-Men member Cyclops (Scott Summers) and Madelyne Pryor (Jean Grey's clone), the half brother of Rachel Summers and Nate Grey, and the genetic template for Stryfe (confused yet?). He is from a possible future timeline, having been transported as an infant to the future, where he grew into a warrior, before returning to the present to kick ass and try to sort out the time stream, while also brawling with Stryfe, who is like his twin brother but also a clone. Yeah, it's confusing.
Cable has telepathic and telekinetic abilities, a metal cyborg arm, proficiency with about a million guns, precognition, enhanced vision, strength, time travel capabilities and more. Usually, they just make him a ranged fighter though, because guns going "boom" is a lot easier than visually showing precognitive abilities.
Check out the trailer below, Cable is available now.
