It seems like there is a new one of these every other year, but what the hell, here's another one. Available now, the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is running the board on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Calling their collection "arcade perfect", Capcom's new collection hooks you up with 12 Street Fighter games total, the bulk of which are just various editions of Street Fighter II.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection does have the distinction of being the first time some of these games are playable on consoles and PC. The full list of included games are:
- Street Fighter
- Street Fighter II
- Street Fighter II: Champion Edition
- Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting*
- Super Street Fighter II
- Super Street Fighter II: Turbo*
- Street Fighter Alpha
- Street Fighter Alpha 2
- Street Fighter Alpha 3*
- Street Fighter III
- Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact
- Street Fighter III: Third Strike*
So why purchase a brand new collection when you've already played SF II? Well, there are a few new features and extras included in the collection, like a training mode. Weeeeeeee. There's also early game design documents, so you can see the evolution of the various characters, which admittedly is pretty cool, although you view the "evolution" through character bios and sprite viewers. You can also "listen to some of its most memorable soundtracks via the game's built-in music player," which I don't think anyone is going to do, but it is available.
