Sega Europe Ltd just dropped the first in-engine cinematic trailer for Total War: Three Kingdoms, the newest historical real-time strategy title from Creative Assembly. While the in-engine trailer looks great, unfortunately, that greatness is going to need some extra time to get to you, and I'm talking spring of 2019.
Inspired by Luo Guanzhong's 14th-century epic, Romance of the Three Kingdoms , Total War: Three Kingdoms follows the dramatic biographies and deeds of the period's warlords and their followers in China from the 2nd to the 3rd century as they tru to unify the kingdom and create a dynasty. The trailer below introduces one of those leaders who has the potential to be one of the "true leaders" of China, the tactician Cao Cao. You'll see the child-emperor who is being twisted and manipulated by tyrant and all around asshole, Dong Zhuo, while the rest of the warlords attempt to free themselves from his rule. Cao Cao is instrumental in ridding China of Zhuo, and you know how that went down; stabbing, burning, pillaging and murdering. Isn't history fun?
