This game wasn't even alive as far as we were concerned a couple months ago, and now we have an E3 trailer. Rage 2 has pretty much the same setting as the first game, which you've seen in Mad Max and a million other dystopian flicks and games; a beat-down, blown out wasteland with no law and order. Much like the last Mad Max game, you can go anywhere you want in the desert, and kill anything that crosses your path.

Rage 2 brings together, Avalanche Studios, masters of open world madness, and id Software, creators of the first-person shooter, in what is going to be an apocalyptic bloodbath of epic proportions.Go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything is going to be your MO on this one.

The year is 2185, and humanity is good and screwed, with dwindling numbers from the fallout and vicious gangs helping to further erode the population. The closest thing to order in the world is "the Authority", a bunch of bastards who are trying to put the world together in a way that they can control. You take on the role of Walker, the last Ranger of the land, who is left for dead by the Authority. Time to get some payback.

The rest is going to play out exactly how you'd expect it to; you'll collect and upgrade weapons, acquire special powers called Nanotrites in addition to an Overdrive mode that pushes your guns to the max, and shoot everything you can. On top of that, if you can see a vehicle, you can drive it, so the car-carnage is going to be flowing hard, in addition to mutants, monsters, gang members and wasteland baddies. Lock and load, FPS fans.

Take a look at the E3 trailer below, take a look at the official website here, and when we have more info, so will you.
