If you think you’ve already mastered everything that Crash Bandicoot has to throw at you, then I am pleased to inform you that you are terribly, terribly misinformed. Developed by Vicarious Visions, Future Tense brings an extra layer of difficulty to Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. This new level will have you dodging rockets, smashing robots and hurtling laser beams in an all new level, set in a skyscraper, which pays homage to the unreleased waterfall level from the original Crash Bandicoot. Whether you're a casual Crash fan or a speed-runner, this new content will have something for you.
On top of that, in Future Tense, Crash and Coco will take on some familiar enemies and hazards in new ways, plus the usual hidden areas and a section labeled, "death route." Future Tense will be accessible via a new platform in the Warp Room of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, and playable at any point in the game’s progression. Jennifer Oneal, Studio Head at Vicarious Visions has this to say about the new level: “Adding a new level to Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was something we always wanted to do, and introducing Future Tense allows us to give all Crash players something new to play just in time for the multi-platform release.”
Level designers Ben Dorsey and Stephen Ivanauskas added, “We hope Future Tense will allow players to re-experience that feeling from the good ‘ol days when they first cracked open a Crash Bandicootgame and had to figure out how to get past a brand-new challenge, or find that one last crate.” “And frankly, Crash Bandicoot levels are fun to make!”
For the first time ever, the original three games will be playable on Switch, Xbox One and PS4, available June 29, 2018.
