Smash Bros is back, baby! Nintendo's classic, frenetic multiplayer brawler is coming to the Switch, with a truly massive roster that includes at least one iteration of EVERY prior Smash character, going all the way back to the beginning! ...Plus, of course, the lizard Samus Aran loves to hate, Ridley himelf! The roster that has been announced so far includes over sixty playable characters, and there are likely plenty more to come, making this -- by far -- the biggest Smash ever.
For traditionalists, the GameCube controllers will be supported on the Switch via an adapter, so you won't have to switch up your style or deal with a new controller.
Originally released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, the game began as a Japan-only release, but when it started raking in the cash, Nintendo quickly released it worldwide. The series went to new heights with the release of Super Smash Bros. Melee, which was released in 2001 for GameCube and became the bestselling game on that system. Super Smash Bros. Brawl followed in 2008 for the Wii. A fourth installment, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, were released in 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, respectively.
Smash Bros Ultimate is scheduled to release Dec 7 2018, give the trailer a watch below and check out the official website here.
