Indie game developer Tydecon Games wants to drive you nuts, and they're kind of arrogantly proud of it. Bragging that you can feel free to underestimate their new "mind-bending puzzle game" at your own peril, the just-launched Steam title 999 will "trick your mind, drive you crazy, make you climb the walls, scratch your head and cry in vain until you realize the solution to completing the level was smack in your face from the start."
Basically, you'll feel dumb until you don't and then come crying for more.
The title is really digging into its namesake, with 999 stars, lives and levels, but your objective is relatively simple; all you need to do is fling your character to the exit through the increasingly difficult levels, all designed to push your platforming and puzzling skills to the limit. The game brings a funky, psychedelic, and colorful appearance to its "rage-enduing levels" and they promise more surprises than just the color scheme and brutal difficulty. They've got a lot of different ways for you to drive yourself nuts, with 999 levels, 9 game modes, mini-games and extras to unlock, and global leader boards to see how bad you suck. Thanks Tydecon!
Check out the trailer below, and just from watching it, I am kinda getting pissed off already, but I can see how the game could get crazy addicting.
I don't know if my blood pressure can take it.
999 is out now on Steam.
