Focus Home Interactive and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. veterans Vostok Games just bumped the release back on their FPS, Fear the Wolves. Originally scheduled for release July 18th, Fear The Wolves' Early Access on Steam has been delayed, but only by a few weeks, with the company saying that after listening to the expectations and feedback of players in the Closed Beta, it was the right decision to make. As a result, the Closed Beta will extend until the new Early Access launch date, allowing players to continue their exploration of Chernobyl, and more importantly, keep helping the developers to fine tune the title.
Fear the Wolves is a competitive Battle Royale FPS by Vostok Games, bringing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. style FPS action to the 100-player arena. The game drops players, in squads or as lone wolves, into the oppressive environments of a radiation-ravaged Chernobyl spread across a big ass map, where they go to work, offing each other and avoiding the pitfalls and problems that most irradiated wastelands have. The classic Battle Royale mode forces players to fight to be the last man standing out of 100 fighters. while another, soon to-be-unveiled mode brings an exciting twist to the genre.
Tens of thousands of players have been battling it out in Fear the Wolves' closed beta, with many praising the amalgam of classic Battle Royale gameplay with original FPS mechanics, like FtW players vs. environment mechanics, like radiation hazards, dynamic weather, and their somewhat unique end-of-game extraction system.
