This is the newest title from the studio behind Overcooked, and the Escapists 2 (among other titles), and much like the aforementioned games, the premise of Mugsters is simple, but the execution is complex. You are dropped onto an island with a mission (it's about 5 missions): rescue survivors, defeat aliens, collect crystals and of course, save the world. Why do you need to do all this? Because as usual, aliens have taken over the planet and enslaved humanity. Only you have the know-how to drive back the dastardly threat and free your fellow Earthlings, mainly by blowing shit up.
Mugsters is a physics-based, action puzzle game where you'll have to outrun and outsmart your enemies by experimenting with different sandbox levels, each with its own set of objectives and a mixture of vehicles, puzzles, traps, enemies and explosions. You're given all the tools needed to complete the level, but it is up to you to decide how to use them. Whether you prefer a tactical approach or like to make an explosive entrance, you are free to succeed (and fail) as you like. The sheer level of variety here should give the game a ton of replayability, and the cartoony art-style looks like it fits the game perfectly. Check out the trailer to see what we mean.
Mugsters is available on Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC for $14.99.
