These videos are usually pretty good, and this one is no different. Getting a behind the scenes look into why certain decisions are made from a development or structural standpoint interests me a great deal, and even if you aren't excited about this game or genre, as a video game fan, I always find these videos illuminating. Lunar Great Wall Studios just released this behind-the-scenes video about the game's development, and it discusses the advantages of having dual protagonists in the game, in addition to the way that a sort of symbiotic relationship develops between Kit and her cat companion, Hodge.
If this game isn't on your radar, it should be, if for no other reason than Neal Gaiman's fiction is the inspiration for the world, and Gaiman is a badass. Another Sight is a surreal fantasy adventure with steampunk elements set in London in 1899, towards the end of the Victorian era, and the game will focus on culture and character, with a microscope on the developing relationship between Kit and Hodge, a little girl and a cat, respectively. The two meet in the darkness of a London Underground construction site after Kit loses her sight when the tunnel she had been exploring collapses. They decide to team up, with Hodge quickly proving himself to be an indispensable companion as they explore the surreal fantasy world, both together and separately, each using their own unique talents in game to make their way the environment, solving puzzles and exploring.
Another Sight is launching later this year on Playstation 4, Xbox One Nintendo Switch and PC.
