Courtesy of Playstation Access, we've got a ton of new gameplay for Insomniac's upcoming Spider-Man title, in addition to a breakdown of some of Spidey's mechanics and combat.
We get some new stealth footage, showing how the wall-crawler can sneak around levels, dropping down to attack foes, knocking them unconscious before zipping back up into the rafters. There's also some segments of the hero effortlessly zipping up to ventilation ducts and moving unseen throughout the ceilings of the large building.
Insomniac has already told us that at this point, Peter has been fighting crime for eight years, so Spider-Man is extremely formidable. It appears that once you begin the game, you'll already have access to an impressive amount of powers and web-based attacks. Speaking of web attacks, there are a ton on display here, from web-balls to quick shot web-bursts, and you can also overwhelm an enemy with a bunch of webbing to incapacitate him. The web-combat really shines when you use the uppercut, knocking an enemy up into the air, then jumping up after him, hitting him with a combination of web-strikes, kicks and punches. It looks like a lot of fun, and it appears there will be a ton of web and fist/foot combos, with a lot of environmental attacks thrown in as well.
The footage ends with a boss battle with Wilson Fistk, AKA the Kingpin, and although it looks like relatively standard fare, the fluidity of the combat looks beautiful. Watch the whole thing below, and keep an eye out for more footage before the game is released this fall.
