If you don't know, there's a new Spider-Man title heading our way, and it looks amazing so far. Sony is really revving up the marketing to get people hyped for the release, and I gotta admit, it's working on me. I am pumped for this release. According to Insomniac, this game will have no origin, no "learning the ropes" type beginning, as Peter Parker has already been fighting crime for eight years, so you'll already have an impressive amount of powers and web-based attacks at your command, from web-balls to quick shot web-bursts, and you can also overwhelm an enemy with a bunch of webbing to incapacitate him. In short, the combat is looking amazing, and we may finally get our "Arkham Series" of Spider-Man games. Here's hoping.

The trailer below doesn't show off a ton of combat, since it's more cutscenes and cinematics, but what is here looks beautiful, and there are a lot of super villains on display as well, and most of them are real heavy hitters from Spidey's rogue's gallery: you've got Rhino, Vulture, Silver Sable, Mr. Negative, Kingpin, Scorpion, and more, and they look great, with some tweaks on old school costumes (Rhino and Scorpion, most obviously) to keep things fresh. Speaking of new costumes, Spider-Man has a new one as well, and I do not care for it really at all. Hopefully, like most other Spider-Man games, there will be plenty of costumes you can switch around.

The plot looks like it mainly deals with Spider-Man finally taking down the Kingpin, and the ramifications of taking Fisk off the board, most notably, Mr. Negative stepping in, which, if you've read any of the comics in the last few years, you know is a bad thing.
Let us know what you think about the trailer in the comments (and I especially want opinions on that new Spider-Suit), and keep an eye out when the title hits the shelves September 7th.
