In Lunacy: Saint Rhodes, you seek the truth behind your family's horrific murder, and although that isn't the most novel premise, Lazarus Studios is hoping that the game's content will scare the pants off you, despite the well-worn story setup. You might have caught their previous title, the Lovecraftian Conarium, which received some pretty great reviews, so these guys know their stuff, especially when it comes to horror. Aiming to make a first-person survival horror game where you never truly feel safe, the game "watches your every move and adapts to your playing style," by using "The Author", an AI that observes how you play and changes the course of the game based on your actions.
After your family is brutally murdered, you head back to your ancestral home in the small town of Saint Rhodes in hopes of unravelling the horrific chain of events that lead to their demise. You can search the town, while frightening creatures roam the streets, all guided by The Author, as you search of clues to help you survive and solve the mystery of your family's deaths. No single visit to the town will be the same, with multiple non-linear paths leading to different outcomes and endings, and it looks like we'll be dealing with a lot of parallel dimension type of stuff, with a healthy dose of occult and possible Satan worship thrown in for good measure.
The new trailer gives you a glimpse inside the eerie house that used to be your family home and the secrets that hide in the haunted town. The game will arrive on PC in 2019.
